October 15, 1906 marked the beginning of a visionary entrepreneurial legacy with the founding of La Constancia.
In 1958, the first hotel in El Salvador opened its doors to local tourism.

Arrival in El Salvador
1886
Rafael Meza Ayau arrives in El Salvador, opening the way in this country in the business world, starting the family legacy.

The Brewery Seed
1874
Mamá Fafa, Don Rafael's mother, makes the first attempt to brew craft beer in Escuintla, an unsuccessful venture that seeds the idea of the business in her son Rafael.

Founding of La Constancia
October 15, 1906
The Deed of Incorporation of Sociedad R. Meza Ayau y Compañía, the brewery that became the pillar of the Group, is signed.

Beginning of the Agricultural Legacy
1914
Don Rafael Meza Ayau Sr. buys the El Sauce Farm and Mill in Santa Ana, marking the formal beginning of the family's participation in coffee (Agrisal's predecessor).

Soda Division is born
1920
La Tropical Soft Drink Factory is founded, diversifying the business with its own brands such as Naranjada, Fresa and Tropicola.

Strategic Merger with La Polar
1935
La Constancia merges with its competitor, Cervecería Polar. The new company is named La Constancia, S.A., strengthening its leadership in the market.

Historic Alliance with Coca-Cola
July 1940
La Constancia finalizes the agreement to begin bottling the Coca-Cola brand, a milestone that strengthened ties with the U.S. multinational.

Agua Cristal is born
1944
La Tropical launches Agua Cristal, whose quality and modern purification plant positioned it as a leader, becoming the generic name for bottled water.

Hotel Division begins
1955
Compañía Hotelera Salvadoreña, S.A. is incorporated, initiating a new stage of diversification in the hospitality sector (predecessor of Agrisal's Hotel Division).

Launch of the Intercontinental
June 28, 1958
The Hotel El Salvador Intercontinental is inaugurated, the first five-star hotel in the country, which became the cornerstone of the Group's hotel expansion.

Manufacture of Own Containers
April 1960
Corcho y Lata, S.A. opens operations, with Italian machinery to produce cork and metal containers, supplying the regional market.

Creation of EMBOSALVA
1965
Embotelladora Salvadoreña, S.A. (EMBOSALVA) is founded, a company dedicated exclusively to the production and commercialization of The Coca-Cola Company brands.

Conquest of Global Markets
Early 70's
La Constancia begins the conquest of international markets, exporting brands such as Pilsener to the United States, marking its first global expansion process.

Automotive section starts
2000
Incursion into the luxury car market with the Mercedes Benz brand and international trucks.

Inauguration of the first stage of the World Trade Center

Agrisal Group designs a new strategic platform to ensure the continuation of the legacy in the most suitable business areas.

Plaza Mundo Soyapango opens

Construction of the first shopping center in Soyapango and its subsequent stages, becoming the most visited shopping center in El Salvador.

Conversion of the beverage business to real estate

Agrisal acquired all the shares of the World Trade Center San Salvador, the project that consolidated the Group as the leading real estate developer of corporate office space.

Consolidates its incursion into the Central American region with the opening of Plaza Tempo, a modern corporate complex.

Since October 2023, we have taken our experience to a new level under the prestigious Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand, inaugurating Hilton San Salvador Hotel with 198 rooms, 23 meeting rooms and capacity for more than 2,000 people, today this hotel is a key point for tourism and business.
In 2006 it was acquired by AGRISAL, after which it was incorporated into its alliance with the IHG hotel chain. The acquisition and renovation allowed the hotel to position itself as a hotel reference in San Salvador.
In 2003 we inaugurated Plaza Mundo Soyapango, our first shopping center. With its innovative design and a centennial ceiba tree at its heart, it became a meeting and development point for thousands of families.
Opened in 2020, this shopping center expanded Plaza Mundo's offerings to the north of Greater San Salvador.
Opened its doors in 2024, Plaza Mundo Usulután was consolidated as a new center of commerce and entertainment in the eastern part of the country.
AGRISAL's first high-rise housing project, which complements the World Trade Center San Salvador portfolio.
The first apartment condominium that takes the concept of housing in Soyapango to another level.
Founded in 2001 as the first A+ corporate complex in El Salvador, with contemporary architecture and strategic location.
Opened in 2009, this iconic space in the WTCSS complex brings together art, flavor and life.

It was born from the alliance between Agrisal, Seed and Innbox, with the support of IDB Lab, to create the first innovation and entrepreneurship hub in the country. A project that started in December 2020 and seeks to strengthen the Salvadoran entrepreneurial ecosystem.

With 60,000 m² of construction, 180 stores, 35 kiosks, 800 parking spaces and a 360° amphitheater for 700 people, it offers sustainable spaces and an ideal environment for the whole family.
